Escada attracts potential buyer

German luxury womenswear brand Escada has attracted interest from potential buyer, Munich lawyer Nickolaus Becker.

Becker, who was formerly supervisory board chairman of German media group EM.TV, is reportedly looking to acquire the assets of the troubled German fashion house, which filed for insolvency last week.

German magazine Focus Money reported that Becker has secured financial investors and plans to offer to buy the Escada brand, its individual stores, and some of its stock but is not interested in buying the limited company. Becker said: “We will quickly enter concrete talks with the insolvency administrator.”
