Esprit names former Zara director as chief product officer

Young fashion brand and retailer Esprit has appointed a former Zara director as chief product officer.

Rafael Pastor Espuch will take over the role from Melody Harris-Jensback, who will step down from the group with effect from October 31.

He previously spent almost 18 years at Inditex and from February 2001 to January 2013 was executive director of Zara Basic, a womenswear product division of the Spanish fashion chain.

He will be responsible for the product creation and design of all divisions across the Esprit brand, reporting directly to the group chief executive Jose Manuel Martinez Gutierrez, and will be part of the executive management team.
