Ex-Burberry boss Angela Ahrendts given £40m Apple shares

Former Burberry chief executive Angela Ahrendts has received a pay package in her new role as Apple’s retail chief that includes $68m (£40m) of shares.

Ahrendts, who joined Apple last week, will receive 85% of the shares as long as she remains in her role, regardless of performance.

She will be transferred the shares in a series of payments over the next four years, according to The Telegraph.

In her new role Ahrendts will oversee Apple’s 423 stores and its online retail strategy. At Burberry, Christopher Bailey has taken the full reins as chief creative and chief executive officer from May 1.
