Ex-Clarks US president joins footwear business Easy Spirit

The women’s shoe company Easy Spirit has appointed former Clark’s president Jim Salzano as its new chief executive.

In his new role Salzano will lead Easy Spirit’s business operations and strategy. He was president at Clarks from November 2010 to August 2013 and was responsible for leading, developing and growing the nearly $1bn (£646m) shoe business, changing it from a stand-alone division into a regional contributor of the newly formed Clarks Global Organisation.

Executive chairman of Easy Spirit, Peggy Eskensai, said: “Jim is a seasoned footwear executive with over thirty years of retail and wholesale experience. His significant leadership skills, combined with his proven ability to drive profitability, growth and brand awareness, will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen the business and position Easy Spirit for great success.”

Easy Spirit is a part of Nine West Holdings, which also owns the Nine West and Anne Klein brands, and has 12 outlet stores on the east coast of the US as well as a wholesale business.
