Former Marks & Spencer boss Kate Bostock to head Coast

Former Marks & Spencer Kate Bostock has been hired as chief executive of Coast.

Bostock, who left Asos in a shock departure this July, is to head up the retailer from mid-September. She will report into executive chairman of Aurora Fashions Derek Lovelock.

Lovelock told Drapers it was “the perfect meeting of minds.”

Bostock has previously worked with both Liz Evans, chief executive of Oasis and Warehouse, and Karen Millen’s managing director Gemma Metheringham.

She replaces Margaret McDonald who left the business in July to join Victoria’s Secret.

This is the third move in a year for Bostock, who resigned from M&S last summer after much speculation over her working relationship with chief executive Marc Bolland. Bostock had been at the retailer for eight years.

It later emerged she was to join Asos as executive director of product and trading, but she left this position after just seven months.
