Ex-US banker sues Mike Ashley for breach of contract

Former banker at US bank Merrill Lynch, Jeff Blue, is reportedly suing Sports Direct’s Mike Ashley for £14m for alleged breach of agreement.

The bank resigned as corporate broker to the retailer in 2012 over concerns about corporate governance, according to The Guardian.

Blue is suing Ashley over claims that the retail boss breached an agreement to pay him a £15m bonus if the company’s share price rose above 800p.
