Exclusive: Project D to cease trading

Project D, the contemporary womenswear brand co-founded by former X Factor judge Dannii Minogue, will cease to exist after spring 13.

The current collection will be the final for the label, which was launched in 2010, as no autumn 13 product has been created.

Project D’s founders are now planning to move on with new ventures.

Co-founder Tabitha Somerset-Webb told Drapers: “It is not moving forward at the moment, but that’s not to say it won’t do in the future.”

Somerset-Webb has now launched her own womenswear label, Tabitha Webb, which will debut for autumn 13. The collection, which comprises a range of mid and full length dresses, will be stocked at retailers including Harvey Nichols and My Wardrobe.

Last July Project D revealed rebrand plans ahead of what was described as major international expansion.

At the time Somerset-Webb said that spring 13, the brand’s sixth season, would see Project D embark on a programme of rapid growth moving into the Middle East and Europe.
