Sourcing trade show Fashion SVP has almost doubled the number of manufacturers showing at this year’s event, with more than 60 exhibitors signed up compared with 35 in 2012.
The show, which specialises in manufacturers from the UK, Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, has also increased the number of British exhibitors from two to six, following demand from buyers.
Buzz Carter, event director at Fashion SVP, said there had been a “resurgence of interest” in British manufacturing.
He added: “Having consulted our panel of experts it was clear that people wanted to see more quality British suppliers. With the likes of John Lewis pledging to ensure that 15% of its fashion goods are British, it’s a strong signal that ‘Made in Britain’ products are on the rise.”
British manufacturers at the show this year include Gill Knitwear, Euro-Rose Knitwear and denim manufacturer MFL.
Carter declined to give figures but said the number of buyers signed up for the event at London Olympia from September 22 to 24 is “way up” on last year and includes teams from Asos, John Lewis and Next.
