Exhibitor numbers up 16% at London Textile Fair

More than 360 exhibitors are taking part in this season’s London Textile Fair, up 16% on the last edition in July 2014.

The show kicked off today led by a strong Italian contigent, with 90 exhibitors, followed by 70 from Turkey, 30 from Britain, and exhibitors from other countries including France and Portugal. The show, which runs until January 15, also welcomed 25 new names.

Organiser John Kelley told Drapers he expects approximately 3,000 visitors, as well as buyers from major retailers and independents, to attend the two-day show at the Business Design Centre in Islington, north London.

“The show has really established itself on the international fair calendar,” he said. “Buyers for UK retailers make up the biggest percentage of visitors, because without the costs associated with travelling to other shows in Europe it is easier to bring their whole team along.”
