Experts predict 'solid growth' in retail sales over Easter

Retail sales bounced back in March after a sluggish February and look set to continue their upwards trend over Easter, according to the Confederation of British Industry.

CBI’s director for economics Rain Newton-Smith was optimistic about trade over the next few weeks: “Sales have recovered following a tough month in February for retailers, and we expect solid growth to continue through Easter.

“The outlook ahead is looking bright, with household incomes buoyed by zero inflation and improving pay packets, which will continue to encourage spending.”
