Farfetch boosts board with former Asos international boss

Independent etail platform Farfetch has appointed the former international director Jon Kamaluddin as chairman of its audit committee.

Kamaluddin was international director at Asos from 2009 to 2013 and finance director from 2004 to 2009. He is currently executive chairman at womenswear etailer Atterley and non-executive director at Swedish payments company Klarna, and joined menswear retailer Blue Inc in March this year as a consultant to help grow its online and multichannel offering.

Farfetch has also appointed Dana Evan as chairman of the remuneration committee. Evan joined private equity firm Icon Ventures as a venture partner in 2013 and was previously chief executive of US-based domain name and internet security firm Verisign for 12 years until 2007.

Index Partners general partner Danny Rimer has become investor director, replacing Robin Klein who left Index Partners in May 2015. Index Partners is one of the investors in Farfetch.

“We are delighted to have these phenomenal additions to our board of investor directors,” said Farfetch founder and chief executive José Neves.

“Danny has been on the journey with us as an investor and has a wealth of experience working with other ecommerce companies, Jon has been a big part of one of the world’s most successful online fashion businesses at Asos, and Dana brings the US exposure and knowledge we need as a global business which has the US as its main market.”

The board of, the parent company of the Farfetch Group, is comprised of José Neves; Frédéric Court, executive director appointed by Advent Partners; Danny Rimer, executive director appointed by Index Ventures; Moritz von Laffert, executive director appointed by Condé Nast International; and Mike Risman, executive director appointed by Vitruvian Partners.

In May Farfetch acquired London designer boutique Browns for an undisclosed amount to develop and test innovations in retail technology, following an investment round of £56m led by Russian entrepreneur Yuri Milner’s DST Global firm in March.
