Farfetch is launching the collections of two Middle Eastern designers online and in the Browns store in London, as part of a partnership with the Dubai Design & Fashion Council (DDFC) and Vogue Arabia that aims to nurture Middle Eastern design talent.
UAE-based ready-to-wear brand Reemami and Egypt-based accessories brand Okhtein won the opportunity when they were awarded the DDFC/Vogue Arabia Fashion Prize last year.
Reemami, created by Palestinian born and UAE-based designer Reema Al Banna, is featuring artistic prints for spring 17, including hand illustrations of mountains, stars and climbers, along with intricate detailing of detachable layers, strings, eyelets and knots.
Okhtein is the brainchild of Egyptian sisters Aya and Mounaz Abdelraouf. The spring 17 collection features bags with embossed metalwork and tassel details.
