Fashion icon Hilary Alexander joins M&S as consultant

Fashion expert Hilary Alexander is being brought on to act as a consultant for the Per Una range at Marks & Spencer.

Alexander, who is fashion director of The Daily Telegraph, will take on several different responsibilities as part of the newly-created role.

Initially she will create ‘Hilary’s Edit’ – a curated selection of outfits from the Per Una range for the current season, which will be flagged up online and in M&S stores throughout the country.

She will also host a weekly ‘Ask Hilary’ column on, responding to customers’ fashion queries and crises.

Alexander said: “I’ve shopped at M&S for years so I was delighted for the opportunity to get involved and I’m looking forward to working alongside the Per Una team.”

The Per Una design boss Carole Boyes-Weston left the business in January after only five months in the role.

She was replaced by Karen Peacock, head of design for footwear, accessories, Autograph, Classics and the Indigo Collection, on an interim basis while M&S recruits a replacement.
