Copyright organisation and licence-holder PRS for Music has launched a competition for independent fashion retailers, celebrating the use of music in stores.
The Music Makeover competition, which was launched in 2011 for the pub sector, is now open to any independent fashion retailer in the UK with up to four doors and a valid PRS for Music licence.
To enter, indies must demonstrate a passion for music and explain why their store deserves to win.
The winning store will be given £5,000 to spend on music equipment, advice from music experts and an exclusive launch event featuring performances from PRS for Music members. Two runners-up will receive a £2,500 makeover.
The deadline for entries is 5pm on July 15.
Paul Clements, commercial director of PRS for Music, said: “There are still a number of people who don’t realise music can add a real layer of competitive advantage to their business, or know how to use music to its full potential, which is where PRS for Music and the business-to-business music services we license can advise.”
