Fashion retail hailed in New Year’s Honours list

White Company founder Chrissie Rucker and Charles Tyrwhitt founder Nicholas Wheeler have been awarded OBEs in the New Year’s Honours list for their services to the retail industry.

The list, which was unveiled last week, also sees Alexandra Shulman, who won the Drapers Award for Outstanding Contribution to Fashion last November, awarded a CBE for services to fashion journalism.

Richard James, founder of the premium menswear brand of the same name, was also granted an order for services to men’s fashion.

Lynne Franks, CEO and founder of PR firm Lynne Franks PR was featured in the list for services to business, fashion and women’s empowerment alongside Hilary Grainger, dean of academic development and quality assurance of London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London for services to higher education.
