Fashion sales edge up at John Lewis

John Lewis fashion sales nosed up 1.6% year on year for the week to 4 February, driven by womenswear.

The retailer said the arrival of the spring 17 range of its house brand Modern Rarity helped boost womenswear sales by 3.4% across the week.

Total sales at John Lewis were up 5.4% for the week to £74.4m.
