Fashion sales edge up at John Lewis

Fashion sales at John Lewis increased by 2.8% for the week to 9 June, boosted by price-matching a competitor’s promotion.

Beauty sales were up 13% on the same week last year while the sale of women’s accessories increased by 8% year on year.

Own-brand womenswear was up 4.8% for the week.

Total sales at the department store were up 4.2%.
