Fashion sales were up 0.4% at John Lewis for the week to 24 February.
Womenswear was the star performer for department store chain, up by 6.3%.
The rise in sales is attributed to customers beginning to shop spring and summer collections despite the cold weather.
Total sales for the week were up by 0.3% against the same week last year also driven by strong demand for Easter gifts and cards, gift foods and stationery. John Lewis’s 2018 outdoor furniture range also achieved a record launch week for the category.
