Drapers and trend forecasting service WGSN will host a Future of Fashion VIP charity event next month that will launch a new book by Simon Collins, dean of fashion at Parsons The New School for Design in New York.
The invitation-only event, on Monday August 4 at Café Royal in London, will raise money for The Prince’s Trust Million Makers charity.
Collins’ book, The School of Fashion: 30 Parsons Designers, celebrates the US fashion school, whose alumni include Donna Karan, Alexander Wang and Isaac Mizrahi. During the evening Drapers editorial director Eric Musgrave will conduct a Q&A with Collins and Caroline Rush of the British Fashion Council.
Parsons also will showcase its 2014 graduate collection, which will be followed by a charity auction and a DJ set by Alexis Knox.
The red-carpet event will start at 7pm. Guests are being asked to donate at least £200 per ticket to The Prince’s Trust Million Makers appeal. Anyone wishing to attend should email FutureOfFashion@topright-group.com
