Fat Face to open largest retail park store

Lifestyle retailer Fat Face is to open its largest out of town centre in Rugby later this year.

It has taken a 6,250 sq ft unit in the Elliott’s Field Shopping Park in Rugby on a 10-year lease.

Elliott’s Field, which is owned by Hammerson, closed in early 2014 to undergo a £35m extension and redevelopment. It is due to reopen this autumn.

The new 180,000 sq ft park has already secured a 60,000 sq ft Marks & Spencer and 50,000 sq ft Debenhams to anchor the scheme.

It will also contain a 6,250 sq ft shop from River Island, its first in Rugby, and a Next, Clarks and TK Maxx.

Hammerson development manager Tom Cochrane said: “The arrival of Fat Face and River Island supports our vision of creating a retail destination that puts Rugby back on the map and enables the local residents, and those in the wider area, to enjoy a new and exciting shopping experience that offers a varied mix of shops and restaurants.”
