Fashion sales at John Lewis increased by 10.9% for the week to 15 June, boosted by Father’s Day spending.
Menswear sales shot up by 19.7%, with men’s socks among the most popular gifts, up 34%. Men’s toiletries also performed well, notching up the strongest week of sales outside of Christmas.
Womenswear sales were up 11% for the week.
Total sales at the department store were up 1.6% compared to 2017, to £218.99m.
