Fenn Wright Manson up for-sale

Fenn Wright Manson, the contemporary womenswear retailer and wholesaler, has been put up for sale, according to reports.

Advisors to Fenn Wright Manson, which trades from 12 standalone stores and 63 concessions in John Lewis and House of Fraser, sent out a sales memorandum last week. Founders Colin Fenn, Trevor Wright and Glynn Manson are understood to be looking to sell their shares.

Fenn Wright Manson, which posted pre-tax profits of £1.4m, down 13% for the year to January 31 2009, could be sold for between £15m to £20m, according to The Independent.

The moves comes two weeks after Sir Tom Hunter hoisted the for-sale sign over footwear chain Office, setting a price tag of up to £200m. Hunter appointed UK corporate advisory firm Hawkpoint and US investment specialist Financo to explore options for Office including a sale.
