Fenwick’s Williams & Griffin snaps up Debenhams manager

Fenwick-owned retailer Williams & Griffin has appointed former Debenhams store manager Carl Milton as its new managing director.

Milton joins the department store following 16 years at Debenhams, where he was most recently senior store manager at the retailer’s Westfield London flagship.

In his new role Milton will lead a team of more than 200 staff, including buyers for all departments, shop floor staff and marketing.

He is taking over from Michael Rowles, who retired from the Fenwick Group last year.

Williams & Griffin’s is currently undergoing a £30m redevelopment project, which will see the store’s current shop floor double in size by spring 2016.

Demolition works on the building is scheduled to begin in March.
