Festive sales up at Joules

Joules reported a 22.8% increase year on year in retail sales over the Christmas period.

The firm said sales during the seven weeks to 8 January were “strong” and the retail gross margin rate will be marginally higher than 2015.

Colin Porter, chief executive, said: “This strong outcome over the important Christmas trading period reflects the growing awareness and strength of the Joules brand. The success of our disciplined, multichannel, sales strategy across this important trading period is made possible by the dedication and commitment of our team.”
