F&F nabs Primark menswear buyer

Tesco’s fashion arm F&F has poached Primark’s buying controller for menswear Nick Tahir to bolster its clothing offer as head of buying for menswear.

The supermarket confirmed that Tahir will start in March but would not give further details.

Primark declined to comment.

The move follows the hiring of Sam Burford as head of buying for womenswear from New Look last October, at the same time as Tesco showcased its first womenswear-only UK shop-in-shop in West Kensington, London.

At the time of the shop-in-shop opening a company spokesman said the move was part of Tesco’s plan to turn F&F into a “bona-fide fashion label”.
