Findel is reported to have approached former Argos and Homebase Terry Duddy about taking over its chairmanship, after the mail order firm rebuffed Sports Direct’s Mike Ashley’s attempts to install himself to the position.
Duddy is among the people sounded out by Findel’s advisors, alongside David Shearer, a specialist in corporate turnarounds, Sky News reported.
The search for a chairman is understood to be ongoing.
Ashley’s firm Sports Direct owns nearly 30% of Findel.
Findel has two divisions, Express Gifts, which includes discount clothing under the Studio fascia, and Education.
