Excellent appointment by River Island. And a great design-led company for Fiona Lambert to join.

  • For a design-led, independent company, I think River Island is playing it too safe. In this climate, they need to enhance their point of difference and innovative ideas throughout all departments. Rather than recruiting from the existing status quo, they should be challenging it - to avoid being lost in a sea of high street boring brands that lack vibrancy, as well as failing to inspire their core target market.
In its time,,rebranding from Chelsea girl to River Island was a stroke of genius. Is it time for another shake-up?
