First look: Base brings junior offer to Westfield Stratford

Kidswear retailer Base has doubled the size of its Westfield Stratford City store to include its junior and girls wear collections for the first time.

The store opened in 2012 stocking clothes for teenage boys, and has now expanded by 2,500 sq ft to include its full range of clothing for teen girls, juniors and babies.

The 5,000 sq ft Base store features junior collections from Fendi, Marcelo Burlon and Monnalisa.

Managing director Marc Granditer said: “We have been in Stratford since it opened in 2012 and we believe the strong footfall and continued regeneration of East London made it a perfect location for our full retail proposition.”

Granditer reported that the company is now focused on building online sales and have no immediate plans for new stores across the UK.

Base also has stores in Bluewater and Westfield London.
