First look: Dr Martens to open first Oxford Street store

Dr Martens will open its first Oxford Street store tomorrow (August 13) at number 386, a former Accessorize shop.

The 1,100 sq ft unit, spread across three floors, will celebrate the five decades of the brand with images from the 1960s through to present day.

Global marketing director Simon Jobson said: “When people come to London, they want to go home with something that captures the city and is idiosyncratic to the UK. Dr Martens fits the bill perfectly as it’s all about music, culture and history. Our Oxford Street store will bring this history and atmosphere to a big, global audience.”

The store will be Dr Marten’s 22nd in the UK.
