First look: Flannels opens in Newcastle

Flannels has opened its latest multimillion-pound new store concept in Newcastle.

The 20,000 sq ft store on Northumberland Street is split across two floors.

The store includes men’s, women’s, and children’s wear, a “style and collect” section, and VIP changing rooms with sofas and chairs to fit up to five people.

The store was designed by London and Miami-based designers Argent, whose projects in the past have included luxury residential, super-yachts and upmarket retail.

Atmospheric lighting provides an intimate feel, while concrete and brass trims grant a modern luxury look. Other colours reflecting the north – such as rust red from the Angel of the North, terracotta from the local brickwork and green from the countryside – are featured throughout the shop. Marble floors alongside wool and velvet drapery complete the look. The overall aim of the concept is to provide an intimate boutique-style store on a very large scale.

  • I'm don't think the Newcastle United fans will be queuing up to shop here!
