First look: M&S launches capsule basics collection for autumn 18

Marks & Spencer is launching a collection of wardrobe staples called The Foundation Edit for autumn 18, the first season under new clothing boss Jill McDonald.

The womenswear collection features 12 everyday pieces ranging from £3.50 for a cotton T-shirt to £99 for a trench coat.

Key styles include straight-cut jeans, a Breton striped top and a fine-knit jumper.

The Foundation Edit launches in all stores and online in August.

  • Walking by a new store recently. The window display was all about price. It looked low end and tacky. Is this the turnaround plan?
