First look: Stella McCartney launches bridal collection

Luxury fashion brand Stella McCartney has unveiled its first bridal collection, Made with Love.

The nine-piece collection includes seven dresses, an embroidered jumpsuit and an ivory tuxedo, and is made from sustainable viscose, lace and chiffon.

It will be available in selected Stella McCartney stores around the world, as well as through wholesale partners including Harrods, Net-a-Porter, Selfridges and Nordstrom from this month. Prices start at £675.

Each style comes with a blue tag sewn into the garment with a message from the designer to act as the brides’ traditional “something blue”.

The launch comes after the Duchess of Sussex (formerly Meghan Markle) wore a high halter-neck silk crepe gown by Stella McCartney for the evening reception of her wedding to Prince Harry in May.

Retailers, brands and industry experts told Drapers that the dress, as well as the bateau-neck Givenchy gown the duchess wore for the ceremony, would be “hugely influential” on the UK evening and bridal markets.
