Fish N Chips serve up new website

Young men’s footwear brand Fish N Chips is breaking away from its parent brand Base London with a new website.

The online store, which is set to launch this week, will feature the range of graphic printed canvas shoes, as well as creating a “destination” for the brand.

Fish N Chips’ brand consultant Pete Winkworth said the label had experienced “huge growth” through its international wholesale over the last 18 months and they “needed to realise their own platform” separate to Base London.

Winkworth added that the brand is currently exploring expansion prospects in other European markets, such as Spain, as the casual shoe style sells “very well” in warm climates.

The brand has no current plans to open a standalone outlet as it “does not wish to compete” with its wholesalers.

Launched in 2010, the “younger brother” brand caters for the “rebellious attitude of British youth”. Wholesale prices range from £14 to £18.

Base London was a finalist at the Drapers Footwear and Accessories Awards 2013.
