Flannels Oxford Street launch delayed

Sports Direct’s upmarket multibrand offering, Flannels, has postponed its London launch to February 2018, Drapers understands.

The site at Academy House on 161-167 Oxford Street was believed to have been scheduled to open before Christmas.

However, sources have told Drapers it has now been pushed back by around eight months. One source said that the store is still in its design stages.

The sports retailer bought the premises more than a year ago for £108m from CIP Property, a nominee of Aviva Investors.

Flannels could not be reached for comment.
