Footwear retailer Footasylum has appointed managing director of Blacks Outdoor Chris Rowan as its new trading director and has promoted buying manager Jack Spellacy to the role of buying director, Drapers can reveal.
Rowan will join the retailer on November 9. He has worked at Blacks Outdoor since May 2014 and was previously head of retail at JD-owned Bank from 2008 to 2012. Rowan will be responsible for retail, ecommerce and marketing as well as leading Footasylum’s trading strategy.
Spellacy now has responsibility for the retailer’s buying and merchandising departments. He joined Footasylum in 2011 as a buyer and has been buying manager for the last 18 months.
Both Spellacy and Rown will report into chief executive Clare Nesbitt.
