Footfall down across all retail locations

Footfall in high streets, retail parks and shopping centres throughout the UK declined last week, leading to an overall drop of 2.8% year on year and 0.9% on the previous week.

Retail parks were the only location to record week-on-week growth, with footfall creeping up 0.3%, according to data by Springboard.

Scotland and Northern Ireland were the only countries to post a year-on-year rise, each of 3.5%. Scotland’s footfall was down 6.8% on the week before, while Northern Ireland’s was up 0.8%.

Wales recorded a week-on-week increase of 1.7%. All other regions experienced declines.
