Footfall rockets at Manchester outlet centre

Manchester outlet centre, The Lowry Outlet Mall, saw sales and footfall rocket in October, thanks to bargain-hunting shoppers.

Lowry Outlet Mall, which is in Salford Quays, saw October like-for-like sales rise 14% and footfall rise by 11% in October.

Centre boss Rob Hallworth said: "We have more shoppers and individually they are spending more in our stores. Over the half term period, year on year we were 26% up in total sales and 14% up in footfall."

Menswear and womenswear performed particularly well over the month with sales up 30%.

Tenants at the Lowry Outlet Mall include Makrs & Spencer, Flannels, Whistles and Karen Millen.
