Footwear brand Melissa to open first permanent store in Covent Garden

Brazilian shoe brand Melissa is to open its first permanent store in Covent Garden in the autumn.

The 6,000 sq ft unit at 43 King Street, a former Ralph Lauren store, will follow the brands ‘Galeria’ concept found in its New York and Sao Paulo flagships, featuring art installations and sculptures.

The shop will house the label’s full collection including its range of collaborations with designers such as Jason Wu, Gareth Pugh, Vivienne Westwood, and Karl Lagerfeld.

Melissa is also in talks to open another pop up store in central London this summer, following the closure of its South Molten Street pop up at the end of 2013.
