Forever 21 suing Gucci over stripes

Young fashion chain Forever 21 has reportedly filed a lawsuit against Gucci over the trademark of stripes.

The US fast fashion retailer is seeking for protection against the trademark of a “parallel stripe design of alternating bands coloured blue-red-blue and green-red-green,” The Fashion Law reported.

The lawsuit was filed earlier this week in the US District Court for the central district of California.

The action is a response to series of letters from Gucci to Forever 21 which demanded the chain “cease and desist from any and all use of blue-red-blue stripes,”.

Forever 21 claimed it is not infringing on any Gucci trademark.
