Former Asos boss joins board at Klarna

Former Asos international director Jon Kamaluddin has joined the board of directors at Swedish payments company Klarna.

Kamaluddin spent almost a decade at Asos as finance director from 2004 to 2009 and international director from 2009 to 2013.

He was responsible for leading a global expansion into the US, Russia, China and Australia, helping Asos grow overseas sales to almost 60% of total turnover.

Previously he worked as finance manager for Marks & Spencer.

Klarna is active in 15 European countries and valued at around $1bn (£597.8m). Its checkout service lets consumers make online purchases using only their email address and postcode. Around 45,000 merchants have registered for the service, including Spotify, Vistaprint and M&S.
