Former Espirit CEO joins Bimba Y Lola

Former Espirit chief executive José Manuel Martínez will join Spanish womenswear brand Bimba Y Lola in the same role, as it seeks to grow its international presence.

Martinez was at the helm of Esprit for six years, and before that he held various senior roles at the Inditex Group for nine years.

He was replaced at Esprit by Anders Kristiansen, who was previously chief executive of New Look.

At Bimba Y Lola Martinez replaces Nicolás Corral, who held the role for six years.

Bimba Y Lola was founded in 2005 by María and Uxía Dominguez and has expanded into 13 markets. The company said its new strategic plan will lead it to expand further in Europe, Latin America and Asia, particularly in countries including Italy, France and Mexico.

Bimba Y Lola currently operates eight stores in London.
