Former Harrods finance boss heads to Hunter

Hunter has poached Benedict Smith from Game Digital to take up the role of chief financial officer at the lifestyle brand.

Smith will replace Ken Pratt, who has held the role since April 2013. His next role is not yet known.

Smith will join the brand known for its iconic wellies on July 27. He has held the same role at Game Digital since 2013.

He was previously chief financial officer of Harrods from 2006 to 2012 and of pub company Spirit Group from 2003 to 2006.

“Benedict’s appointment comes at a key time for Hunter, as we move into our next phase of growth,” said chief executive James Seuss. “His experience will serve us well, including his time at Harrods, as we continue to realise our ambition and grow both our retail and wholesale businesses, on a global level.”
