Former Hermès deputy MD joins Begg & Co

Former Hermès deputy managing director Patrick Albaladejo has joined Moorbrook Textiles, the parent company of Scottish cashmere scarf manufacturer Alex Begg and luxury cashmere scarf brand Begg & Co, as chairman.

Albaladejo replaces James Mason, who has retired after seven years.

He spent ten years at Hermès and was previously managing director of Scottish drinks company William Grant.

He is now based in Paris and is academic director of the luxury chair at the HEC Business School and lectures on luxury brand marketing.

Ian Laird, managing director at Moorbrook Textiles, said: “We would like to thank James for his invaluable contribution over the last seven years… and welcome Patrick on board as the company celebrates its 150th anniversary.

“We very much look forward to working with Patrick and benefiting from his considerable expertise and insights into global luxury brand development.”

“It is quite an opportunity to be invited to be part of a 150-year-old company with such a tremendous heritage and know-how combined with the energy of a start-up,” he said. “I am confident Moorbrook’s future will be even brighter.”
