Former HoF CIO resurfaces

Former chief information officer at House of Fraser, Julian Burnett, has been appointed head of IBM’s UK retail division.

Burnett will be leading IBM’s global business services, targeting the UK and Ireland retail industry. He is due to start next week.

Burnett told Drapers: “I feel very much part of the UK retail industry and I’m looking forward to serving that industry across many retailers. It really encourages me, with a view to doing a better job for the UK retail industry by working on the supply side of technology.”

Burnett was CIO at House of Fraser from 2015 until February this year.

Meanwhile, House of Fraser’s majority stake holder Sanpower Group has appointed Guy Salter as co-chairman of the group’s new retail business. This group will include its consumer and retail businesses, including House of Fraser.
