Former House of Fraser womenswear chief joins Sears

Allan Winstanley, the former executive director of womenswear at House of Fraser, has joined US department store chain Sears as a leadership consultant.

Winstanley worked at House of Fraser for nine years, joining as executive director of menswear, beauty and childrenswear in 2005 before being promoted to executive director of women’s apparel, accessories and beauty in 2012.

He left in 2014 to join Selfridges-owned Dutch department store De Bijenkorf as chief merchandise officer.

Winstanley began his career at Marks & Spencer, where he spent 21 years in various logistics and buying roles.

He moved to Next as formalwear buyer in 1998, before spending four years in senior buying roles at Moss Bros Group from 2000 to the end of 2004, when he left to join House of Fraser.
