Former JJB Sports boss to lead retail recruitment firm

Retail recruitment firm Barracuda Group has appointed Keith Jones to the new role of chief executive to spearhead the next phase of growth for the company.

Jones will take up the role on April 1, joining the firm’s two founding directors Jamie Zuppinger and Justin Linger, who have been in charge of Barracuda up until now.

Jones became chief executive of financing group ThinkSmart in February last year and will remain an executive director. He was chief executive of JJB Sports from March 2010 to July 2012 and was group retail director of DSG International (formerly Dixons Group) from 2009 to 2010.

“Over the past 10 years the team has successfully established the business as a leading executive search firm for the retail sector,” said Jones. “I look forward to working with them and to leading the next phase of growth.”

Peter Jones, chairman of Barracuda, said: “Keith brings a wealth of experience from the retail sector and will help drive our performance to new heights.”
