Jonathan Ackeroyd, former chief executive of Alexander McQueen, has been appointed to the same role at Versace.
Ackeroyd, who left Alexander McQueen earlier this month after 12 years, replaces Gian Giacomo Ferraris, who has worked at Versace since 2009.
Donatella Versace, vice president and artistic director, said: “Jonathan brings a proven track record in building global brands, steering growth and driving strategic development. His industry expertise and vision will be key to advancing the next phase of Versace’s development.
“Mr Ferraris has done a superb job of securing Versace’s status as one of the world’s leading luxury brands. We thank him for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future,” she added.
Emmanuel Gintzburger, formerly retail and wholesale director at Yves Saint Laurent, replaced Akeroyd at Alexander McQueen.
