Former New Look CEO joins SuperGroup board

Former New Look chief executive Steve Sunnucks has been appointed independent non-executive director of Superdry owner SuperGroup from March 1.

Sunnucks previously spent nine years in leadership roles at US retailer Gap, latterly as global president from November 2012 to December 2014, and was chief executive of New Look from May 2000 to February 2004.

He has also held senior roles at Burtons, Sainsbury’s and Marks & Spencer.

“We are delighted that Steve will be joining the SuperGroup board,” said SuperGroup chairman Peter Bamford. “He brings substantial experience in apparel retail, particularly in the USA which will become an increasingly important market to us as we deliver our strategy of becoming a global lifestyle brand. We look forward to working with Steve and sharing in his expertise and insights.”

Europcar deputy chief executive and former DHL CEO Ken McCall will step down from his role as an independent director on July 13, having joined in 2010.

Bamford thanked him for his contribution over the last six years and wished him well for future endeavours.
