Former New Look head of buying to launch cashmere brand

Nicky Wills, former head of buying at New Look, is set to launch a new cashmere womenswear brand called Arkell & Wills with a business partner later this month.

Cheltenham-based Arkell & Wills will offer beanie hats and shawl scarves, alongside 12 jumper and cardigan styles priced from £200 to £300 at retail.

Wills, who has also worked at Oasis and Etam, is launching the brand online on September 24 with her business partner Debs Critchley. They plan to expand into wholesale for autumn 17.

“We decided to launch the brand because, like many of our friends, we were bored of shopping and finding the same thing everywhere,” said Wills. “We decided to create a brand that is fun, unique and great quality, priced between high-end labels like Chinti & Parker and the high street.”

In addition to the core range, the jumpers and hats can be customised with Swarovski crystal designs and come in various colourways.

Wills is married to Shaun Wills, chief executive of Jacques Vert Group.
