French designer François Girbaud will join US label J Brand following the departure of founder Jeff Rudes last month.
It is not yet clear what Giraud’s role will be at J Brand. Following Rudes’ departure Andrew Rosen - who previously co-founded Theory and was chief executive of Helmut Lang - has been overseeing the general management of the label.
A spokeswoman for J Brand was unable to comment.
Girbaud’s appointment follows the liquidation in November 2013 of Marithé + François Girbaud, the company he set up with his wife.
It comes as part of a shake-up in J Brand’s management. As well as Rudes’ departure, the brand’s chief financial officer Thimio Sotos left in March and is yet to resurface. In the same month Lynne Koplin was named as the label’s president, joining from True Religion where she was president and chief merchandising officer.
